Wax Museum Dublin

I went to Dublin a couple of days ago again- for the second time in two months, which is a lot for me since I live a 3 hours drive away :C Anyway, me and my sister went for some retail therapy and distractions from the quiet small town life to Ireland's capital, and it was one of the most memorable Dublin trips yet.

We spent around 5 hours on the train in total, visited around 40 shops, I tried on 2 dresses I fell in love with immediately, took 3 Luas'es, walked through around 5 huuge streets, saw 7 street performers, and met the one and only Leanne Woodfull in Urban Outfitters- however no picture, because we were in the shop and not allowed to take photographs, nevertheless she is one of the most loveliest and friendly people I've ever met. In the midst of this craziness, we made enough time to go to Dublin's own Wax Museum- a place we both had been meaning to go to for ages, but never actually went.

In a moment of spontaneous decisions, because that's how hardcore we are haha, we put aside an hour to visit the Wax Museum, and only ended up paying 20e, because we both got discounts.

Turns out, our rushed decisions weren't bad ones- we had a mint time, as I like to say. The museum is just off Dame street in Temple Bar, and has 3 floors full of different rooms. It includes themes of History, Science, Music, Fairytale and even has 2 chambers of Horror- something for the not easily scared, but brilliant in every way.

It's unbelievable how lifelike the human wax figures actually are- they're all a little bigger than the usual human size, but the way they're sculpted, polished and painted is really skillful and creative. Anyway, enough of me going on and here is the pictures I took- I took photos of more or less everything, so you might need a cup of tea to get you through this blog post! Enjoy!

Me and my good friend Paddy ahaha

Went to Dublin, got bit by Dracula..whilst a crowd of American tourists were watching me squeal..just another ordinary day I suppose..

Nail Polish Haul

Yes, an another haul- but that's because I'm at home or out shopping all the time. I don't wear that much nail polish on my nails at all to be honest, but having bought all these gorgeous colours I'll try harder. Half of them were on sale in the local chemists- a huge basket full of cheap make up and a sign that said '5 for 1euro' stuck on the side, how can you resist? I picked up neutrals, brights, lights- just an another couple to add to my quite small collection, but that's only because I peel the polish off my nails once it's been on them for a day- a bad habit.

Bright, bold, strong colours- because that's what summer is made of. The metallic shiny green is Catrice's Virgin Forest, the summery yellow is Sub- Mandarin, and the dark black/green/violet metallic colour is Essence's Chic Reloaded.

With neutrals being so strong this season, I picked up a couple of light nail polishes. The very first Gosh colour is actually a glitter nail polish in the colour Rainbow, the Catrice beside it is My Cafe Au Lait At Notre Dame, the white beside it is Snow Motion, and the pretty barely-there soft pink at the end is Essence's Ice, Ice, Baby!

I hope you enjoyed this short post, and I hope you're having a good hot summer, wherever you are. Thanks for reading!

How To Get Rid of Spots/My Skincare Regime

One of the most horrible, confidence destructing and sometimes inevitable things a teenager has to put up with- spots, blemishes and breakouts that can lead to acne. Sometimes there is only the one cure- time, your only option being to leave those face demons and just wait till they go away.

However, no one's got the time or patience to wait around till those imperfections fade away, but usually there is nothing we can do to make them disappear completely overnight. There are soo many beauty products on the market today, promising to help combat spots and blackheads, and some of them do work, and I've been lucky enough to compile a beauty regime that helps those face demons of mine fade away completely in a couple of weeks.

Obviously, just because they all work for me doesn't mean they will work for you, but it's worth a try- what have you got to lose? Spots? For even more effective results, make sure you're eating a healthy diet and drinking plenty of water, blah blah blah.

Daytime Skincare

In the morning, I use the daily scrub as a cleanser, and it exfoliates my skin and removes all dry skin, leaving it super clean and soft. Then, I move straight on to toning, and I use the blackhead clearing cleanser as a toner, as you have to apply it after washing your face, and you don't take it off. Then, my last step is to moisturize, and Oilatum Cream is my savior when it comes to hydrating dry cheeks and under-eyes.

Nighttime Skincare

After a loong day, I take off all make up off my face using the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pore+Shine daily wash, which isn't technically a make up remover, but it does the job brilliantly, and doesn't irritate the sensitive area around the eyes. Next, I wash my face using the cream wash, and after that, I use the toner and cream as before. After all that, I leave my skin for 10 minutes to let it calm down and for the products to sink in, and apply Sudocrem on spots and blemishes, and it works wonders overnight.

I've been following this regime for the last two weeks or so, and eventually, my skin is finally starting to clear up. Whilst getting rid of breakouts, don't over do your make up as you want your skin to breathe and let the sun get to it, which is also a really good anti spot tool.

Thanks so much for reading!

Summer's Coolest Couple

Summer's Coolest Couple- the title of the 1960's inspired photo shoot I found myself flicking through Glamour UK's June in Athlone last weekend. I had never heard or seen before this gorgeous couple, but Estelle Yves and Harry Treadaway made me drool over this gorgeous photography, and the clothes too of course, labels including Moschino, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu. Estelle's bouffant also reminded me how last year I wore a beehive all summer long, but I don't think I'll be brave enough to pull off one this high this year!

Anyway, I've a lot of blog post ideas in my mind, so bear with me as I try my best to fight off procrastination. In the meantime, if you're single, you're probably going to need a lump of Dairy Milk to get you through these photos, as they are super adorable, and so are the outfits.

A good song to listen through whilst your scrolling through this is Lana Del Rey's XXIV- not an official Del Rey song, just a mix made by Omitobeats, and it's brilliant.

Check it out:
