People who Inspire Me: Alexander McQueen

Third, and final installment of People who Inspire Me blogs!

McQueen is one of the reasons why I love fashion so much. He taught the world that fashion can be anything you make it to be- no matter how crazy, or unbelievable it is, if it inspires you, you can make it into a piece of clothing.

McQueen, or 'Lee', as he signed his suicide note, had a difficult life, but depression didn't stop him from doing what he loved best, although McQueen didn't win the battle with it. He ended his life 3 years ago, only 40 years old, at the height of his success.

Over his lifetime, McQueen had designed collections that were worth dying for. Filled with raw energy, his shows were unique, just like himself. They stood out, as so did his clothes.

McQueen is most famously known for beginning the skull trend with a scarf.

Low-rise jeans are another one of his creations.

McQueen's creations not only left an infinite imprint in the fashion world, but motivated people to be themselves, to live life the way they wanted to, to do the things they wanted to.
